We do not collect payment card details, shipping addresses or Amazon account information. If you buy through a link to Amazon, Amazon collects that information under its own privacy notice.

Who hosts this website, and what do they collect?

This website runs on WordPress.com, operated by Automattic Inc. Automattic collects some information about visitors to sites it hosts, such as IP addresses and usage data, to provide, secure and measure the service, and it may use cookies to do so. Its practices are described in Automattic’s Privacy Notice for Visitors to Our Users’ Sites and Cookie Policy.

Do we use analytics?

Yes. This site uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC and installed through the Site Kit plugin, to understand which pages are useful and how visitors move from our pages to Amazon, for example by counting clicks on links to Amazon. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and the referring website. The same Google tag may also be used to measure the results of our own Google Ads campaigns. WordPress.com also provides basic visitor statistics. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Comments

If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and comment you enter, plus your IP address and browser information to help detect spam. A hashed version of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service (Automattic) to check whether you have a profile picture. Your comment and display name are public.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. On this site they are used by WordPress.com to operate and secure the site, and by Google Analytics to count and understand visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work for reading.

What happens when you click a link to Amazon?

Links to Amazon take you to a website we do not control. Some links include Amazon Attribution tags that tell us, in aggregate, which pages and links send visitors to Amazon and what happens afterward on Amazon, such as product page views and purchases. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from Amazon. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon’s Privacy Notice applies.

How do we share information?

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:

• with service providers that run this website or our email, such as WordPress.com (Automattic), Google (analytics) and our email provider, so they can provide their services to us;
• when required by law, such as to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights and safety of our visitors, our business or others;
• as part of a business transfer, such as a merger or sale of assets, with the information remaining subject to this policy.

How long do we keep information?

We keep emails and contact messages for as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up, and then delete them within 24 months unless we must keep them longer for legal reasons. Hosting and statistics data are kept according to Automattic’s policies.

What choices and rights do you have?

• Access, correction and deletion: you can ask us what personal information we hold about you from your messages, and ask us to correct or delete it.
• Emails: if you subscribe to email updates, WordPress.com (Automattic) sends you new posts by email, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Otherwise we only email you in reply to a message you sent.
• Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser.
• State privacy rights: depending on where you live in the United States, for example California, you may have additional rights under state law, such as the right to know, delete or correct personal information and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. This site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, and Google Analytics does not change how it works based on them. You can limit tracking by blocking cookies in your browser or by using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

How do we protect information?

The site is served over HTTPS, and access to our email and site administration is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information, such as payment details or passwords, by email.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change, for example if we add new tools or services, and we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
